| Roche Medical
Needs Program
Having cancer can place a tremendous burden on patients. Besides
the emotional costs, cancer treatments often cause patients financial
difficulties. If the patient is not covered by insurance or has a
limited income, the costs for treatment can quickly become overwhelming.
That's why Roche Patient Assistance Foundation offers the Roche Medical
Needs Program for Kytril. This program is designed to eliminate the
financial burden of Kytril for eligible patients by providing the
prescription free of charge.
As a philanthropic endeavor to assure access to Roche products for
needy patients, the Roche Patient Assistance Foundation offers Roche
medications at no charge until alternative funding can be found.
The Roche Medical Needs Program in not intended to supplant or replace
prescription drug coverage provided by third-party public or private
payers.
Patient Eligibility
The Roche Medical Needs Program is an interim solution for those
patients who lack third-party outpatient prescription drug coverage
under private insurance, government-funded programs (Medicaid, Medicare,
Veterans Affairs, etc.), or private/community sources and cannot
afford to purchase Kytril on their own.
This program is for individual outpatients who meet the Roche Medical
Needs Program for Kytril criteria, and is offered only through licensed
practitioners. The program is not intended for clinics, hospitals,
and/or other institutions.
How to apply
The Roche Medical Needs Program is administered by the ONCOLINE Reimbursement
Hotline. An ONCOLINE Reimbursement Specialist will investigate the
individual coverage benefits that may be available to the patient.
If no coverage is found, a Medical Needs Program application will
be sent to the physician. The application must be completed by both
the prescribing physician and the patient and will require the physician's
and patient's signature and the physician's DEA number. All completed
applications will be reviewed by ONCOLINE using the established criteria
of the program. Eligible applicants will receive a three month supply
of medication, which will be shipped to the physician's office for
dispensing. A new application form must be completed for patients
requiring refills.
